Shortly after moving into Harvest Oaks, I was informed by PVAMU that I could not attend classes for the semester due to academic suspension. I had already signed a lease with Harvest Oaks and didn’t know how I was going to pay rent.
Harvest Oaks’ property management company is an authorized worksite for Workforces’ learn-at-work-program and the current intern was finishing her time, so they suggested that I apply at Workforce to see if I was eligible . After being approved, I became the first Resident Intern for Harvest Oaks.
I learned everything from restringing a weed eater and clearing a shower drain to creating surveys and driving a boat. Also I attended marketing meetings , did research, published a newsletter and contributed to designing programs for residents. For Homecoming I made a business plan that me and my roommates implemented to earn money by parking cars and shuttling people on the golf cart belonging to the property owners.
One of my duties was to attend Chamber of Commerce meetings, and there I met a Producer who was filming locally. While delivering the donated snacks for student actors , I was offered a part in the movie!
I certainly learned new things by living here at Harvest Oaks and was able to return to class the next semester.

My time at Harvest Oaks was a great one for me from the day I moved until the day I moved out. I was taken very good care of and was treated like family. I became good friends with my roommates and got to know the tenants in other Harvest Oaks properties through events that we planned.
I also became a intern for Harvest Oaks, helping me to be able to pay rent and buy food and gas. I learned a lot about property management, putting furniture together and fixing things.
I had no issues with the housing at all. The Property Manager worked with me on payments when I needed extra time . If we had any issues with the house it was fixed and taken care of within the week.
The kitchen was big and the living room very comfortable so having people over was easy. The house was walking distance to the school so staying here was very convenient. This has been my best housing experience so far.

It all begins with a very late college decision. I was fresh out of High School and i didnt know where i wanted to go but then i chosen Prairie view A&M University.
After my decision it was early july and i had no place to stay unitl my church member help find me a place to stay my freshmen year. At the time Harvest Oaks was not accepting Freshmen but made an expecting for me. Which i was grateful and happy they did because then i had a place to lay my head.
Every since i steped foot and lived in Harvest Oaks student housing has been nothing short of an amazing experience. Through out my years of staying here i have build good frienship and became part of a great family from the residence to the owner. I will recommed anybody who looking for a great place to stay to come here the houses are always keep in good shape, maintance always get taken of the next day, and so much more.

Since I found Harvest Oaks, it’s been truly a blessing. When I graduated from undergrad, I knew I didn’t want to fly back home but I didn’t have a job secured yet in order to stay in Houston either. I decided to take the leap of faith and stay in Houston but was unsure where to stay in the meantime.
Through a friend, I was recommended to stay at Harvest Oaks until I was able to find a job and a place to call my own. I’m grateful for this place because Sandra has been nothing but supportive throughout the entire process and encouraged me when it got really difficult. While staying here I’ve had the opportunity to learn many skills that are useful in my field and just overall.
Harvest Oaks has been a family for me away from home and my support system as well. I’ve also made great relationships with many of the other residence that stay here and I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
